shane williamson (b. 2001, brooklyn, ny) is a guyanese/panamanian-american independent filmmaker and fine artist currently based out of washington, d.c. his visual catalogue, which primarily consists of music videos, narrative works, and experimental films, often explores themes surrounding identity, stillness, mundanity, and beauty through a mix of sonic and portrait-driven imagery. shane’s work has been featured in spaces such as the centre pompidou, wmata’s “art in transit” exhibition, and dc’s black history film festival.

in 2022, shane graduated from pace university’s film and screen studies program with a double minor in art and women’s & gender studies. most recently, he received his master of fine arts degree in film from howard university where he was also honored with the haile gerima mfa film founders award for directing.
